The Quality Engineer will oversee the execution of quality assurance strategies, carry out thorough inspections, and champion initiatives for continuous improvement to elevate product quality and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Duties:
– Craft and execute strategies for quality assurance to align with industry benchmarks and comply with regulatory demands.
– Perform systematic inspections and evaluations across production processes, products, and materials to pinpoint and rectify quality issues.
– Lead detailed analyses to identify the roots of defects and discrepancies and develop preventive strategies to ensure they do not reoccur.
– Engage collaboratively with various departmental teams to address and rectify quality-related challenges and promote enhancements in processes.
– Apply statistical methods and quality tools to assess process efficacy and pinpoint enhancement opportunities.
– Oversee and enhance supplier quality through audits, performance assessments, and necessary corrective measures.
– Aid in the deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) during the introduction of new products.
– Engage in customer audits and respond proactively to customer concerns related to product quality and reliability.
– Conduct training sessions for production staff emphasizing quality standards, protocols, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
– Proven background in quality engineering, specifically in the automotive manufacturing realm.
– Specific experience with automotive interior components such as door trim and trunk trim.
– Well-versed in quality management systems, statistical analysis tools, and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
– Deep understanding of quality norms and regulations in the automotive industry.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a thorough approach to root cause analysis.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
– Prior experience in managing supplier quality and conducting audits is desirable.
