Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and programs related to health, safety, ergonomics, and environmental practices. Ensures compliance with all relevant safety and environmental laws and regulations.
Job Description:
– Develops, implements, and maintains health, safety, ergonomic, and environmental policies, procedures, programs, and databases.
– Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws, regulations, and codes.
– Drives safety and environmental performance improvements through audits, behavior-based safety programs, ergonomics, and safety committees.
– Ensures OSHA recordkeeping and ergonomic reporting requirements are met on time.
– Chairs Safety and Ergonomic Committee meetings, facilitating the resolution of open issues.
– Conducts ergonomic assessments, including ERA, RULA, and strain indexes.
– Responds to and investigates reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, and property damage immediately.
– Administers first aid care to employees and performs First Responder duties during emergencies.
– Promotes a positive attitude towards safety, adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
– Complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards according to company policies and relevant acts.
– Ensures a safe environment for all employees and visitors by maintaining safety and housekeeping standards and identifying, correcting, and eliminating hazards and unsafe conditions.
– Takes an active role in the safety program by conducting regular workplace inspections, promptly investigating accidents/incidents, and assisting in meeting or exceeding safety goals.
