RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Support engineering and maintenance in developing standards and specifications for controls systems.
– Provide technical support during the introduction of new and reused equipment.
– Supervise assembly and installation of new equipment.
– Ensure proper documentation delivery and maintenance for controls systems throughout equipment lifecycle.
– Plan updates, modifications, and continuous improvements for existing controls systems.
– Design and write advanced electrical controls programs as needed.
– Provide technical support for resolving PLC controls and robotic systems issues.
– Document equipment breakdown/activity and provide reports.
– Install and maintain plant floor machine controls and connections.
– Inspect equipment conditions using preventative maintenance procedures.
– Lead cross-functional project teams related to controls issues.
– Provide leadership and direction during equipment downtime situations.
– Develop material and provide technical training for Maintenance personnel on controls systems.
– Ensure compliance with national Electrical Code, OSHA standards, and ANSI/RIA.
– Incorporate customer requirements into the build process.
– Perform other manufacturing engineering tasks as required.
JOB DUTIES:
– Provide support, leadership, and direction to the Engineering Team on standards and specifications.
– Provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians on controls function.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
– Address hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues promptly.
– Take corrective action for substandard performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Education:
– Associate Degree in Electronics preferred.
– Technical education in basic electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics required.
Work Experience:
– Minimum 15 years of progressive controls or assembly/maintenance experience.
Skills and Competencies:
– Experience with Allen Bradley, Fanuc, ABB, and other HMI and Ethernet controls systems required.
– Ability to work with minimal supervision.
– Proficiency in creating, reading, understanding, and modifying electrical prints and specifications.
– Knowledge of industrial safety standards and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to analyze data and use Microsoft Office and ACAD.
– Flexibility to work varying hours and interact effectively with team members.
– Working knowledge of core tools and ability to learn customer specific requirements.
– Experience with Microsoft Project and Minitab is an asset.
