Key Responsibilities:
– Address and communicate employee concerns regarding workplace safety and environmental obligations.
– Serve as a consultative resource to leadership on the interpretation and fair implementation of governmental regulations and the company’s policies.
– Manage site-specific industrial environmental aspects, including waste management and emergency response planning.
– Ensure contractor adherence to the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies.
– Oversee and maintain the environmental and HSE management systems, including budgeting and compliance with ISO14001 and other standards, and reporting system performance to the management team.
– Act as the primary contact for government agencies and corporate offices concerning HSE matters.
– Maintain and manage records and documentation to support investigative outcomes.
– Present factual data analysis and findings to divisional leaders and suggest appropriate recommendations.
– Participate in and assist with audits, including the follow-up on corrective actions.
– Coordinate and oversee HSE training for employees tailored to their specific roles.
– Lead and advise the Joint Health, Safety, Ergonomics, and Environmental Committee.
– Develop and communicate divisional HSE policies and engage with employees through various communication platforms.
– Investigate incidents and ensure completion of recommended actions.
– Administer the division’s workers’ compensation program to minimize costs and manage case resolutions efficiently.
– Analyze HSE data to make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.
– Manage the selection and procurement of personal protective equipment and negotiate cost-saving strategies.
– Support the implementation of organizational efficiency practices like 5S.
– Adhere to and promote the company’s operational policies, quality, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
