The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving processes throughout the company’s activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Managing launch activities – run at rate, process development, and all pre-production activities.
· Managing engineering planning activities and providing direct support to the Manufacturing / Launch engineering team.
· Leading and mentoring the engineering team, supporting the development and/or improvement of current cell and plant layout processes, implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement.
· Optimizing manufacturing operations through analytical studies of the current operating parameters, such as production methods and processes.
· Analyzing utilization, layout, workflow through CAD and other systems, and initiating appropriate activities to improve existing processes.
· Participating in cross-functional internal continuous improvement activities and required documentation for R&D efforts.
· Commissioning, signing off, and implementing equipment for secondary operations.
· Overseeing the design, purchase, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment.
· Supporting the corporate estimating department by providing data and assisting with quotations related to processes.
· Complying with all established rules, procedures, and health and safety mandates.
· Ensuring personal and associate awareness and understanding of all quality management system requirements, including ISO, IATF, and TS.
· Overseeing all activities and personnel within the Engineering and Maintenance departments.
· Ensuring adequate preventative maintenance is planned, carried out, and documented for all tooling, machinery, and critical equipment.
· Maintaining departmental spending within the annual fiscal budget.
Qualifications:
· Minimum secondary school diploma or equivalent.
· Recognized technical diploma, training, or education in an engineering, business, or maintenance-related field, or equivalent years of working experience in an engineering, lean, or management role.
· 5-10 years of process control and troubleshooting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a lead capacity.
