Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Supplier Quality Engineer will participate as part of a cross-functional program team, representing the disciplines of supplier quality. Collaborate with suppliers and provide support to satisfy customer requirements related to Advance Product Quality Planning and PPAP for new programs. Supervise Quality Engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the daily supervision of Supplier Quality Engineers.
  • Manage Quality Program deliverables as they relate to overall program requirements and timing.
  • Administers Supplier AQP process and conducts component PPAP’s, Run@Rates and Process Sign-Off’s.
  • Requests, gathers, reviews and creates summary reports for annual OEM flammability compliance reporting.
  • Maintains and distributes supply base AQP/PPAP tracking reports to program team and divisions.
  • Manage supplier tool moves, manufacturing site re-locations including most deliverables that are required for OEM customer approvals (part bank builds, logistics timing for move of tools and the final PPAP approvals)
  • Manage the Supplier Development Quality activity for OEM programs – Chrysler, General Motors and Ford (Pre-Launch, Advanced Product Quality Planning, and Production release programs)
  • Provide assistance to Quality Engineers with regard to AQP and PPAP methodology execution.
  • Conduct Potential Supplier Reviews, tracks suppliers progress to meet Manufacturing expectations, process supplier’s approval status with team members from Purchasing and Program Management.
  • Participates as Quality representative for the bid-recap process and approves as required through Agile.
  • Supports Supply Base ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 certifications status tracking and maintenance.
  • Provides communications to Manufacturing supply base regarding industry requirements (Heat Treat, Forever Requirements, SREA, PSO and Flammability)
  • Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).
  • Supports the requirements as detailed in Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management System).

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

Bachelor’s Degree (or bachelor’s equivalency) in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years preferred of diversified quality related experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, viable concept development, and proficiency with statistical methods.
  • Membership and professional certification through the American Society of Quality (ASQ).
  • Knowledge of government and OEM specifications in area of expertise.
  • Strong communication skills; verbal, written, technical presentations.
  • Proficient skills in applicable manufacturing process control, Value Engineering, FMEA & Six Sigma.

Controls Engineer-Ohio

Provides assistance and generally coordinates various machine controls with the Product Engineering and Manufacturing departments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, development and installation of new PLC based control systems.
  • Provides production support by troubleshooting and resolving machine PLC related issues.
  • Produce and update documents including work/user instructions, functional specifications, detailed design specifications, electrical and pneumatic schematics, etc.
  • Conduct machine functionality and fault recovery testing and participates in project startup and machine commissioning.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Production Supervisors and other internal staff.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: 

Associate Degree or equivalent experience. Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic or similar Engineering degree/diploma/certificate or Trades Qualification and significant equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Control Tech preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Basic knowledge in the following software packages: Allen Bradley RSLogix500 / 5000, Factory Talk View Studio.
  • Understand and apply basic ladder logic principles, control for I/O, ability to understand PLC commands and HMI usage.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following: Electrical control system design, PLC programming and troubleshooting, Strong MS Office skills, willing to work overtime as per job requirements.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks. (DeviceNet, EthernetIP).
  • Familiar with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, IFM, Omron).
  • Basic electrical and motor controls, Allen Bradley PLC controls, including RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 platforms, RS Logix, PanelView and PanelView Plus HMI applications.

Engineering Manager-South Carolina

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage launch activities such as run at rate, process development and all preproduction.
  • Manage the quality planning activities including supervision of the plant Program Engineers (Tecumseh Plant, WP1)
  • Manage the activities including supervision of the Manufacturing Engineers and Plant Program Management to include monitoring and reporting goals through the effective use of the objectives of the performance management program (PMP). (FPP)Manage and coordinate the Cost Reduction Plan (CRP) projects from “cradle to grave” with a focus on process improvements while reducing or eliminating cost. (FPP)
  • Manage the facility tooling program(s) activities including the supervision of the Tooling Engineers, and Tooling Specialist (WP1).
  • Analyze, thru CAD and other systems, utilization, layout, workflow and initiate appropriate activities to improve. I.E 5s etc. (WP2, Tec, FPP)
  • Participate in a cross-functional internal continuous improvement activities and document aspects of R&D for claiming purposes.
  • Commission, sign-off and implement equipment for secondary operations. (WP2, Tec)
  • Working in compliance with Quality Business Operating Systems and health and safety and environmental legislation.
  • Oversee the design, purchase, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of all plant equipment (WP1, FPP).
  • Head up continuous improvement activities throughout the plant. (WP2, FPP)
  • Support corporate estimating department by generating quotations relating to painting and masking including providing paint capacity analyses. (Tecumseh only)
  • Design and procure of paint racks, as well as manage its preventative maintenance system (Tecumseh, FPP).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Recognized Technical Diploma in related field

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
  • Must have 8 -10 years process control and troubleshooting experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of all equipment and computer.
  • Knowledgeable in integrated manufacturing technology as it relates to the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze manufacturing operations develop/design workflows and production processes to reduce inefficiency and ensure that final products meet the established quality standards.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation including PFCs, Work Instructions and PFMEAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Match vendor invoices with receiving documents, purchase orders and/or other backup, code with appropriate accounting information and obtain approval for payment from authorized personnel.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts.
  • Enter and maintain timely accurate vendor and invoice information in database.
  • Prepare, present for signature and distribute computer generated and manually written checks on a regular basis and as advised by management to satisfy approved liabilities.
